Jewellery in fashion: a want and a need

by Munaza Sajid on Feb 05 2023
YAA YAA LONDON as featured in 7Hues Magazine February 2021. The model wears our YYL LUXE Sterling Silver Green Agate Purple Stone Earrings   When you were still playing with dolls, your mum most probably took you to the nearest jewellery shop to get your ears pierced. Little did she know that was the beginning of a long, exciting fashion adventure. You had probably worn those very same earrings for years, enjoying a little flower or ladybug that had framed your face delicately. Ever since, you have tried to find the most beautiful jewels to dress your wrists, ears, and neck.   YAA YAA LONDON as featured in L'OFFICIEL. The model wears our 'SOLAR POWER' Ring in Green.   Jewellery truly has evolved from a proof of social status or belonging to a community to something totally ethereal and unexplainable. It is far more than just an accessory: it is an inherent part of fashion and self expression. Today, getting dressed in the morning automatically includes, for most women, putting on a couple of bracelets, a cute pendant, and a nice pair of hoops. Adorning your outfits has never been that simple. Jewels echo and accompany any style, any garment, and even sometimes transform it. There is no wonder why famous fashion houses now incorporate gold or pearls in their clothing creations. From a simple black dress, you can create something more elegant and elaborate with a diamond necklace. You can also make it rock with some stacked silver chains. The whole concept of your look can be elevated to the next level with some carefully-chosen jewels. They will give texture and personality to what you are trying to say to the world. Jewels, no matter how discrete, will always catch the eye and reveal other facets of your personality. They unveil the soul elegantly, and that is why we could never imagine fashion without jewellery! At YAA YAA LONDON, we are so passionate about jewellery that we could not imagine our life without designing the most elegant pieces.  Expand your personal jewellery archive by shopping our collections at yaayaaalondon.com today.

My husband – the photographer

by Munaza Sajid on Nov 29 2019
My husband is an excellent photographer so I thought it was time I gave his take on my YAA YAA LONDON handmade gemstone jewellery a shout out! So here it is. I am shouting about you husband!!     I particularly like the way he has captured my Savannah earrings – they are gold vermeil (sterling silver with 18k gold plating – also available in sterling silver) with chalcedony stone. He’s also managed to capture my turquoise howlite ‘Louisa’ ring beautifully.  YAA YAA LONDON Savannah Earrings Handmade gemstone earrings designed by YAA YAA LONDON Running a business is never easy so it really does help when you can pull in favours from your loved ones and friends, especially when they have amazing skills to offer.  YAA YAA LONDON Unique Gemstone Jewellery Louisa Trilogy Ring Take a look at more of my designs online at yaayaalondon.com. YAA YAA LONDON set to launch YYL LUXE jewellery collection

by Munaza Sajid on Oct 27 2018
With the success of my affordable semi-precious stone jewellery collection, I decided that it was time to design a luxury range for customers wanting something a little more special and yet still unique. The YYL LUXE range features colourful semi-precious gemstones but this time, my bold designs are in 24k gold vermeil, 22k rose gold and 925 sterling silver. After much research I found that there was a gap in the market for a pairing of high-end precious metals and bold and bright gemstones in simple styles with a directional feel. Founded by me, Yvonne, a gemstone jewellery designer and personal stylist, I source materials from all over the world and use stones like smoky quartz, amazonite, agate, moonstone, onyx, lapis, fresh water pearls and druzy. I can only give you a sneak peak for now, sorry, but stay tuned for the big reveal.  It will be worth the wait! Yvonne x
